INTEGRALE VESTITO CHANNEL – The death of Formula One triple world champion Ayrton Senna, on May 1, 1994, resulted from a crash that occurred while he was leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Italy. The accidents of Senna and Roland Ratzenberger (the previous day) were the first fatal accidents in Formula One in eight years, and were the worst of several accidents to take place during the race meeting. There have been many attempted explanations for the cause of his death, but no consensus has been reached. His death was a turning point in the safety of Formula One, as many safety measures have since been implemented. The Grand Prix Drivers’ Association was reformed later in 1994, and the association has contributed to these changes.
Ayrton Senna – “Racing Is In My Blood” was originally filmed back in 1991, 3 years prior to his untimely death at the San Marino GP, Imola 1994. This fascinating documentary provides a unique insight in to the life and mind-set of arguably the greatest pilot ever to grace F1.
