Formula 1 – 1978
Just missing the mid-morning rain, the RB6 was unveiled to the public in Spain today. Mark and Sebastian drew back the cover to reveal the Adrian Newey-design car which will challenge for points, podiums and trophies in 2010. Following a brief photo session where the drivers were joined by our chief technical officer and team principal Christian Horner there was a round of television and press interviews before Mark begain testing the new car. Here is a great review of the 1979 Formula 1 World Championship. It was the year of Ferrari. Jody Scheckter became World Champion. 2nd became his team mate and one of my personal favourite ever in Formula 1, Gilles Villeneuve. Enjoy!!!
A tribute to the most spectacular driver of all time by StargazerF1. I hope you’ll enjoy
Satoru Nakajima takes for a lap of Silverstone during practice for the 1987 British GP in the Lotus Honda Turbo. This must be one of the only times Nakajima overtook Senna!
Several outtakes and the funny side of Formula One from the 1986 season. -Senna, Laffite, and Piquet all have trouble opening the champagne bottles on the podium in Brazil -Murray comments on the Lotus pit girls during qualifying in Britain -Murray explains how serious Senna is while he proves him wrong and shows his funny side to the camera at Brands Hatch -Spectators in Britain get creative with their viewing points -Piquet sleeps in the cockpit waiting for the 2nd start of the British Grand Prix -Mansell nearly faints after winning in Brands Hatch, celebrates while being held from the back of an SUV while the crowd goes wild -Senna just makes it over the line while Prost runs out of fuel and pushes his car in Germany -Patrese’s retired Brabham nearly rolls into Senna and Piquet as they drive past in Hungary -Berger shows off his skull cap after retiring at the Hungaroring -Nannini spins off into the undergrowth in Austria -Murray pokes fun at the Minardi-Motori Moderni team in Portugal -Johansson, Arnoux, and Alliot all ride on Piquet’s car after the Mexican Grand Prix, only after switching from Alliot’s car after it runs out of fuel -Berger, Senna and Prost have a champagne fight on the podium in Mexico after Berger’s first win
This clip concentrates on the old Formula One, containing footages from the late sixties to the middle seventies. I hope you like it! Music: Queen – The Show Must Go On
Part 2 of a 20 minute program shown by ITV shortly before the 1997 F1 championship decider. Features summary of qualifying, the events at the previous race (the disqualification of Villeneuve), other championships that have gone down to the wire, and interviews with Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher.
1993 Formula 1 Gran Prix of Europe. Absolutely stunning audio. The BBC finally got it right via the FIA with the audio sync of the cars. One of my favorite all time races, so many pit stops constantly changing from wet to dry tires and back again due to the weather. Listen to screaming engine sound of the car (Senna’s McLaren Ford?) in the background at 4:23 as it shifts and SCREAMS by. Other notable hot sounds at 1:33 Senna shifting up. At 2:00 background car (Alesi’s Ferrari?) during Patrese’s pit. At 2:51 Senna upshifts. A lot of F1 races have good sound, but this one truly stands out. 1991 Phoenix was another great race with good sound. Please leave a comment if you like about this video.
